There are probably two things that are well known about the ANU. The first is that it is the best university in Australia (read – it is better than yours) [Editors note: this was correct at time of writing]. The second is that the ANU is in Canberra. This means that for all but a few die-hard Political Science and Public Law enthusiasts, the fact that it is the best university in Australia means little.
But there is more to ANU than the fact that it is in Canberra. For a start, it is right next to the CBD. This means that all debates will be in easy walking distance to socials and accommodation. Secondly, there are lots of classrooms on a lovely campus, so you should enjoy debating here. Just remember to pack a coat.
